About The Designer Behind Lybethras Swimwear

Luciana Martinez is the designer, founder, and CEO of the Lybethras brand of swimwear based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She's been designing clothing ever since she was only 6 years old when she sewed a dress together for her doll! Growing up, she always made her own dresses. Her friends used to ask her to make dresses for them as well. One day, Luciana hired a seamstress and so began her designer business. She opened her first shop at the age of 19! The bikinis that she used to see in shops were too simple in her eyes. Her goal was to make bikinis that were different and exciting. Luciana uses nylon/lycra blend fabric of the highest quality and also produces many designs made with shiny cirre lycra for sparkle and dazzle. Her designs not only consist of fabric, but are adorned with embellishments like rings, chains, mother of pearl, sequins and even Swarovski crystals. Today, Lybethras produces bikinis for women in 22 countries. While 70% of exports goes to the US, Lybethras has a significent export arrangement with stores in the United Arab Emirates. For example, there is a chain of stores spanning Austria, Dubai, and the US who asked Luciana to "spare no expense" when it comes to making highly embroidered bikinis.
